The Lake
Llyn Arenig Fawr is a fairy lake. It is said that a farmer discovered a bull-calf amongst the rushes of the lake, so he took it home where it sired a herd of red and white cattle! However, a little old man came to the farm and enticed all the animals into the lake.

Llyn Arenig Fawr is a lake and reservoir located near the summit of Arenig Fawr in Gwynedd, Wales.
The lake's primary purpose is to supply water to the nearby town of Bala and the numerous small villages in the surrounding area. From the lake it is an energetic uphill walk to the summit of Arenig Fawr and the picturesque views.
